Winter is a quiet time in Saskatchewan. Those who can find the time escape to warmer places… some of us can only dream.
We had a great turn out at the monthly Meeting last Monday. Our membership hovers in the mid-40s, and sign up for the upcoming Studio Lighting Workshop with Murray Rimmer was brisk. Make sure to contact Myrna <myrnaforge@hotmail.com> if you want to secure a spot for yourself and/or a friend. More info and details on how to register can be found here (just scroll down to the workshop section).
Another call for submissions for the Featured Member Profiles section has been answered by two members. I am in the process of uploading images and bios. These will go live soon and it is my hope that they will become a weekly feature. Any Moose Jaw Camera Club is eligible to participate. To find out more click here for details. I look forward to receiving your images and bio!
Monday’s meeting saw a couple of changes: It worked very well for members to bring along their images on a USB stick. Each member was able to provide some pertinent information about the images featured and questions were encouraged.
The theme for February is “FOOD”… no need to venture outside if the low temperatures don’t appeal. Have a look around the house, fix your favorite meal or capture a special dish at the restaurant the next time you dine out… Can’t wait to see everyone’s food images! Make sure to bring them on a USB drive.
We also started a new introductory session: We take 5 – 6 minutes to get to know a member we have not had the opportunity to meet previously. The buzz in the meeting room was contagious. Hopefully this will make it easier for those of us who are a bit on the timid side.
Rob Harden provided a brief recap about our plans to participate in the July joined exhibition with Group of Ten Photography Club in conjunction with the 2015 Festival of Words. For more details click here.
Please remember, this is your club: Let us know what you would like to see in upcoming workshops and meetings. We are still growing and continue to get to know each other. Communication is key!

Stay warm and keep that camera busy with food imagery…
Thanks Anna for a fantastic recap of the last meeting. Brenda

Glad it reached Mexico, el presidente! 😉 Make sure to soak up the sun and capture some great images, Brenda. It’s snowing here and the wind is supposed to pick up tomorrow…
