The following is a short recap of the GENERAL MEETING from April 6, 2015:
Brenda called the meeting to order at 7:05 p. m.
Minutes were adopted as presented, seconded by Wendy, carried.
Treasurer report – $ 1,978.93
Everyone in attendance divided into small groups to participate in the survey the executive created to obtain feedback. Input from the membership will aid the executive in planning the 2015/2016 year. Surveys have been distributed by email to those who were unable to attend the meeting in person.
Results will be compiled and presented at a future meeting.
The meeting proceeded with viewing the monthly challenge images: The theme was “MACRO”.
Program Report: – Jesse was not unavailable.
Brenda thanked those who attended the historic session at Little Chicago on April 4th. Approximately 13 member participated in the informative outing.
Festival of Words challenge. Please contact Rob if you plan to participate. To allow for ample planning time Rob needs a general idea of who will be participating.
A gentle Reminder: Our blog / website needs info for future member profiles. Please send bios and images to Anna – this is an ongoing project.
Evening Presentation: Anna Hergert presented an interactive lecture on lenses.
The April theme is Reflections: Images will be shared at the May meeting.
May 4 – “Swap and Sale” at meeting. Also, please bring along a small framed print to show and share.
May 23, 2015 outing (1:00 pm) to the Avonlea Badlands – John Meed is leading this field trip. Please call him at 1.306.731.1408 for details. At this time the plan is to meet at the side of the road on the east side of the Avonlea townsite. The group will walk into the site together without an official tour guide.
May theme: New Life – Images will be shared at the June Meeting.
Summer outing – Ogema Train – Leaves Ogema at 10:00 a.m. stops in Pangman, returning to Ogema; approximate cost is $47.00/person. Tentative date for this is July 25, 2015. More info can be obtained fromthe Southern Prairie Railway website. Also, check out club calendar page for an active link.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The June Meeting has been changed to Monday June 15th, 2014. This will be a pot luck (appetizers and finger food) with a photo walk through Crescent Park.

P.R.P.A.- Anna reported on the club’s membership and benefits. She and Rob attended a meeting in Kindersley on March 29. P.R.P.A.’s annual outing is scheduled for Candle Lake June 19th through 21st, 2015. Check out their website here. Interested in participating? All info is found on the PRPA website.
Next executive meeting takes place – Thus. April 16 at “Carols Catering”.
Next General meeting is on May 4th, 2015 at 7 p. m. at the Cosmo Centre in Moose Jaw.
Reminder: GoT Photo Quest Symposium– April 25the, 2015 – 9:00-4:00 at the PoW Complex in Assiniboia.The winning entries from the annual photo competition will be on exhibition at the Shurniak Gallery. Tickets remain on sale for the presentations by John E. Marriott, Canadian wildlife and landscape photographer, and Craig Hills, severe weather photographer.
