Photography is one of Vaughn’s passions. Four years ago Vaughn Taylor started to explore the world of photography. It began with just a simple point-and-shoot which he still uses regularly.
Vaughn’s interests in photography include a variety of genres. He loves the focus required to delve into macro and landscape. Action shots are high on his list as well and include rodeos, mud and drag races. Weddings and family portraits is something Vaughn excels at with his skilled eye for detail. His favorite area in photography is night shooting which means that he can explore long exposure times.
This is Vaughn’s second year as an actively contributing member of the Moose Jaw Camera Club. He belongs to one other Southern Saskatchewan Photo Club as well as numerous Facebook groups. He shares with his ever present big smile: “I have met some great people at this club. They have taught me a lot about my camera and photography in general.”
Vaughn owns four cameras: His primary camera is a Pentax Kr. Often considered an entry level digital camera camera the old saying persists “it is not the equipment that creates the superb images, it is the person who operates it.” Vaughn is seldom disappointed as he uses top lenses to get his great shots. His other equipment includes a Canon point-and-shoot and GoPro Hero 4 for time laps and bursts, it also records video for weddings, and he is never without his i-Phone.
Vaughn is currently considering enrollment in an online course to further improve and expand his knowledge in photography.
