Saturday, October 3rd: The Kelby One World Wide Photo Walk is taking place for Moose Jaw at the Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. Everyone is meeting at the park entrance at 3:30 pm to make their way to the shoot location. Everyone is welcome. You are encouraged to register if you want to submit an image for the competition. Registration is also helpful as we are reserving space at Carol’s Catering for a social afterwards. Details and registration can be located here.
Monday, October 5th: The October regular meeting of the club will start at 7:00 pm at the Cosmo Senior Centre. For those who did not attend the first meeting, we are now at the far end of the main floor. There should be some signs pointing the way. For anyone who has not renewed their memberships, forms will be available and you can pay for them at the meeting.
Entries for Fall exhibition accepted this night only. Please bring a thumb drive with your image(s) and hand them to Rob Harden.
The club is preparing for an exhibition of member images with the theme “Monochromatic.” All members at all experience levels are invited to submit images for that exhibition–maximum of two. Note that “monochromatic” does not mean only black and white, it can be any image where the entire image is shades of one color. Images must be in 3:2 format (what you usually get out of your camera) and will be printed at 16 x 24 inches and hung at Carols Catering. There will be a grand opening reception on October 20th, 2015. There will be a charge of $15 for the printing and mounting of each image to cover Rob’s costs. This amount is also due at the meeting. Please bring along titles and short descriptions of the image(s) submitted. We will produce cards with the title, statement and your contact info for those interested in buying prints.
Programme: Travel Photography – Special presentation by club member Scott Manly. He will share highlights from his recent summer trip visiting a number of US National Parks.
Saturday, October 17th: Rob Harden and Anna Hergert are presenting “Introduction to Digital Photography” from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This will take place at Anna’s studio overlooking Buffalo Pound Lake. The space is made available to the club without any cost. See the MJCC workshop page for more details.
That’s all for now! Hope to see all of you at the next meeting.
