Tomorrow is Remembrance Day and a self-guided field trip to the Mosaic Center in Moose Jaw is on the agenda for a club field trip and outing. With so many people crowding into the same venue Rob suggests that we keep this a loose event. The ceremony will begin at 11 am. Arriving early for a good view, and/or waiting outside after the event to capture veterans, poppies on lapels and other Remembrance Day Symbols and traditions is worth considering.
Think about selecting a few images for the December meeting sharing session titled: Monochromatic: Black, White & Gray (Special note: Brenda announced that the theme would be “Christmas Magic… but that won’t happen till after our Twinkle Tour and the actual holiday in January. )
Saturday, November 14th, 2015 the Moose Jaw Camera Club is offering the following workshop at the Cosmo Center:
Abstract Impressionism with the Adobe Photoshop Filter Gallery
MJCC member Ben Charron, will be presenting this one-day workshop from 10 am till 4:30 pm. Lunch is included.
This hands-on workshop will revolve around the use of the Adobe Smart Filters, with a focus on the Filter Gallery, to create true photographic art. Discussion and hands on experimentation are a vital part of this workshop.
Ben will walk participants through the creation of some of the images from his recent book: Abstract Impressionism with the Adobe Photoshop Filter Gallery. Additional Photoshop techniques will be covered as they pertain to the use of the filters. All participants will receive a PDF copy of Ben’s latest book (included in the workshop fee).
Participants are encouraged to bring an image on a USB drive to use during the hands-on portion. A laptop to work on is recommended but not absolutely necessary.
