Thanks to Rob Harden for sharing some of his images from last night.

The December 7th meeting was a busy event. 38 photographers attended and 5 new members signed up. We are now just one member away from last June’s membership numbers and many new faces have joined the Moose Jaw Camera Club.

Thank you to Sarah Simison who took time out of her busy schedule to attend our meeting inviting everyone to participate in the 2016 Saskatchewan Festival of Words. After our joined venture with the Group of Ten Photoclub from Assiniboia last summer the organizers at the Festival of Words 2016 are looking forward to our contribution. Here is a link to the details. And scroll to the bottom of this page for additional info for the exhibition.

Thank you to Vaughn Taylor for once again organizing the monthly photo challenge. If you are interested in participating please refer to the information on our Meeting Calendar Page, or click right here! You will find everything you need to know to participate and most importantly, which images to prepare for the brief sharing session during our monthly meetings.

The information on Considerations When Entering Photo Competitions has been uploaded in PDF format. It can be found in our Links & Resources area. Click here and look for the document following the listing immediately below the 2016 Contest Guide.

Speaking of exhibitions, we are preparing for a change of images at the Carol’s Catering and Cafe venue along the service road near the highway. Images will be accepted by Rob Harden at the January meeting. Check out the participation guidelines here. The theme is MACRO. Participation is open to active members only. The exhibition will be mounted in February with an official reception. Details will be announced.

The Outings & Field Trips page has been updated to reflect the details for the upcoming Annual Christmas Twinkle Tour around Moose Jaw. Click here for the information. Also check out additional info for the March outing and our upcoming Weekend Retreat in Muenster, SK.

A gentle reminder was announced that we are looking for additional Featured Member information. Please consider sharing your passion on our website. For more info check out this page.

Last but not least, a heartfelt thank you to Vaughn Taylor and Rob Harden for organizing the low light photography hands on session. Vaughn, the hand-out was much appreciated and will help everyone at home to emulate the scenario. Preparing the Bokah supplies was a nice touch and made it easy for everyone. We all appreciated your time investment. Here is a link to the kit you mentioned in your introduction. I found a link to the kit you showed us on Photojojo and general Bokah supplies on Amazon.ca.

We were happy to have so much space and so many helping hands to give our new members assistance. We were happy to have the vast amount of space as it made it easier for everyone to get a chance to capture an image or even two… Thanks to those who hung around to help with clean up. It is always easier with help and ensures that the executive don’t burn out too fast. 😉

This has turned out to be a long post… Hope it has information you missed last night. Feel free to email the executive with your questions.
