After a productive Executive meeting the “Macro” themed exhibition at Carol’s opened officially tonight. Thank you to all members who came out and took interest in this wonderful exhibit. Comments from the staff and guests at Carol’s are very positive.
Here are a few housekeeping news regarding the upcoming meeting next Monday, March 7th.
The Executive has been compiling, editing and amending a Membership Handbook for the Moose Jaw Camera Club. This has been a monumental project that spans over 18 months.
Here is the link to the MJCC Member Handbook – March_2016 We ask that you download and carefully read through the handbook as we will call for a vote to approve this handbook. Questions will also be welcome during the general meeting.
What else will be on the agenda on March 7th?
Do you have photographic equipment for sale? Download and fill in this photography-equipment-for-sale-template
Print up to 30 copies and bring it along to the meeting. We will have a table for your forms. Members will pick up these forms and contact the seller directly. No need to bring along a box with your equipment. This system was selected by the Executive instead of a previously suggested used equipment/garage sale as no volunteer coordinator stepped forward.
Our monthly hands on activity will prepare us for the upcoming light painting. Explore the settings on your camera in preparation for the March 19th outing. Bring your camera and tripod and widest angle lens you own. If you have a remote shutter release make sure to put it into your camera bag.
We will have a short update on Festival of Words Exhibition Guidelines with Rob Harden. Please consider participating. A list of authors with websites and books can be found here.
This is also your final reminder to bring your print entries for the P. R. P. A. Gerry Fish Print Competition. This is a club competition. All Moose Jaw Camera Club member eligible to enter!!! The entry guidelines and details are found here (scroll down to the March 7th meeting info).
Please remember to bring along up to 3 images for “Signs of Love”. Images must be handed to Vaughn on a USB drive (make sure to label the drive with your name).
We look forward to seeing everyone on March 7th. Feel free to bring along a friend who may be interested in joining.
