Community Outreach: An Afternoon at the Bentley

Just like a new school year… September brings many opportunities and activities. Everyone wants to take full advantage of the good weather but on Sunday afternoon a handful of us headed over to the Bentley Retirement Residence to share what we have to offer at the Moose Jaw Camera Club.

Thank you to Jeff Shilling, Shane Dodd, Rob Harden, Colin and Anna Hergert for setting up an eye-catching and informative display to provide Bentley residents with a feast for the eyes. We had a great space for staging a small exhibition and interact with visitors and residents alike. We even connected with a former president of the Moose Jaw Camera Club who told us “You’ve made my day!” several times!

As Shane put it with a big smile after he enjoyed a roasted turkey dinner, tea and dessert: “Photos and food – what could be better?”

Speaking of food: The Steak Night Fundraising Dinner at the Crushed Can in Moose Jaw is coming up Friday, Sept. 23rd from 5 – 9 pm. If you ever wondered about connecting with members bring family and friend for great food and fun! Tickets are $ 20 each and the proceeds go toward our education programme.
