Welcome and Happy New Year
Our monthly sharing session was themed “Facial Expressions”. We received 13 submissions. Great faces, everyone!!
The hands on session covering Macro photography tips was covered by Rob. Thank you, Rob for stepping in at the last minute to introduce a few basic steps to explore. Everyone had a great time trying their hand at a few macro shots. We could have done this all night! It was hard to reign in the group. Here is the macro-photography document. We received a good number of images for the next exhibition with the theme of “Rule of Thirds”. Can’t wait to see them on display at Carol’s Cafe and Catering. Mark your calendar for January 31st. the official opening takes place from 6 pm – 7:30 pm.
There is one opening in Intro do Digital Photography session on January 28th, 2017. Please contact Rob Harden firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible if you are interested. We keep our workshop numbers low to ensure optimal learning!
Photoshop classes: Dates for Feb., March. April and May 2017 – 3rd Sat. 12:30 – 4:30 pm.
$ 10/session – please forward payment upfront to keep book keeping easy and help us stay organized. You can register for the Feb. through May sessions at the next general meeting, February 6th.
Merit Points update – tally sheets were provided by Myrna. Contact Myrna for your copy and hand them in as soon as possible. Another Merit points award ceremony is in the planning stages. Miksang: Saturday, Jan. 7th, 2017 – 10:30 am at MITSU Cafe. Vaughn and Anna will be leading the group. Bring you camera, dress seasonally (it’s supposed to stay cold for the weekend). We encourage everyone to support Mitsu by purchasing a hot drink (tea, coffee) to show our appreciation for the use of their space.
Mark you calendars for a Free CARFAC Copyright Workshop on March 12th, 2017, location: Moose Jaw Art Gallery and Museum. artist-copyright-poster. Registration is required so the Museum and Art Gallery can set up accordingly.
It’s time to think about the Saskatchewan Festival of Words 2017. As promised, we have an info session scheduled for anyone interested in finding out more: January 11th, 7 pm at Mitsu Cafe on Main Street N. Here is a link to more information.
Our evening concluded with a special presentation by club member and wildlife photographer Kelly Wiens. His presentation about Bird Photography was received with enthusiasm. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and wonderful photographs, Kelly!
