Here are the next few events for the Club in a nutshell:
Saturday, February 4th – Miksang group meets at Mitsu on Main Street N at 10:30 am. This month’s theme is under discussion. If you are new to Miksang and want to find out more about it, come out and join us. There will be a short overview with handout to answer some of the general questions. with so much interest and people drifting in and out of the group it is always a good idea to review the objectives of this particular contemplative practice.
Monday, February 6th – Moose Jaw Camera Club General Meeting at the Cosmo Centre, 7 – 9 pm. We have a full programme with a much anticipated presentation by the Burrowing Owl Centre, hands on presentation by Jeff covering general tips and settings for Black and White Photography. The theme for sharing photos is “Old Man Winter”. Please hand your USB drive to Vaughn as you arrive so he can “grab” your images for the slide show.
Myrna will accept Club T-Shirt and Hoodie orders starting at the February meeting and concluding at the March meeting. Here is the tshirts-sweatshirts-and-hoodies order form with detailed information for download. Orders must be prepaid.
At the January meeting Myrna distributed the tally sheets for the Merit system. Please fill in the form up to February) and bring it to the meeting. Myrna is looking forward to receiving your tally. If you lost the sheet, here is a copy of merit-points-record-sheet-16-17 for download and printing.
As always, we ask that you give us a hand in setting up chairs and tables prior to the meeting and assist with the tidy up at the end. Thank you so much!
Sunday, February 19th – Wakamow Winterfest: This will be our club outing for the month. Thanks to Tami, member-at-large, for bringing this event to our attention. The Winterfest runs from 4 pm – 9 pm. There will be opportunities to photograph various winter sports activities like snow shoeing and skating, light painting. horse drawn wagon rides and food booths and so much more. Those interested in visiting Winterfest as a group from the Camera Club meet at the Wakamow Boardwalk Pavilion at 3:45 pm.
Our annual retreat has been confirmed for July 28th – 30th, 2017 at Camp Wood Boya at Woodmountain, SK has been reserved for the Moose Jaw Camera Club. Our instructor is Brian Easton who will explore portrait and landscape photography in natural light with us. A brochure is being created for distribution at the next general meeting. The page on this website is also under construction and should be up and running within the next couple of days.
